Your personal data

Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data. Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information in the data controller’s possession or likely to come into such possession.

The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”).

Who we are

GITPS (Reg. Co. number 4137757) is an international IT recruitment agency with substantial local and international experience in providing clients with access to Information Technology skills they may not be able to find that easily.  Their UK office is registered at:- Abbey House, Wellington Way, Weybridge, Surrey, UK

GITPS has been established since 2000. GITPS provides Permanent, Contract and Contract to Hire resources both on a local and international basis and in addition to this can also provide a complete immigration and relocation programme to suit our client’s needs. All the staff of GITPS are equipped to discuss IT roles with our candidates and clients to ensure that all candidates who are submitted to our clients have a thorough understanding of the role(s) they are being put forward to. GITPS regularly provide training sessions for all their staff to ensure they are aware of the latest trends and updates in the market place to ensure any information can be relayed onto candidates to ensure they are best prepared for any potential interviews.

Your rights with respect to your personal data

We comply with our obligations under the “GDPR” by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.  We regularly update our Database and records to ensure everyone is kept up to date as often as is possible

You have the right to the following

  • How we process your personal data
  • How we access your personal data we hold about you
  • The right to have your data deleted – ie the right to be forgotten
  • The right to question what data we have and what purposes we use your data for
  • The right to remedy any personal information we have on record that may not be correct
  • The right to say to us not to process your personal data

How long will you use my personal data for

  • We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements
  • We secure data on our database that is password and encrypt protected and only for positions that are deemed suitable and appropriate at the time of contact
  • Your details will be deleted after 36 months, if no reasonable regular contact has been made, unless you agree to allow your details to be held on our Database
  • We will be in contact on a regular basis to make your aware of opportunities we may have and give you the opportunity to opt out and your details will then be deleted from our Database and in any other capacity, it may be stored.  If we do not hear from you, then we will continue to hold and process your data
  • You will be contacted from time to time to ensure you are happy for your data to be kept and if not, your data will be deleted

Legitimate Interest

GITPS has ‘legitimate interests’ in processing personal information about individuals we interact with. In essence, our principal legitimate interests are in pursuing our mission to get more people meeting our clients more often and administering placements in a way that promotes and safeguards our interests and those of the people we represent.  For example, we need to process personal data in pursuit of our legitimate interests in order to:

  • Present qualified candidates against specific hiring campaigns our clients maybe doing to increase their headcount
  • Market our services to the marketplace and present qualified clients to our clients to increase our business levels
  • Operate recruitment campaigns for our clients against specific skill sets
  • Monitor our performance by talking to candidates about us and our level of service
  • Keep appropriate records of all candidates sent to our clients, interviews and those placed
  • Research and statistical analysis

In specific situations, we will make you aware of opportunities that would be in the normal running of our business.  For example, we have a history of business and contact/correspondence with you and will make you aware of specific opportunities related to your skills

Information we may collect from you

  • We collect and process data given to us by you via phone, email, direct contact, face to face, our website or by other communication means
  • We might receive data from third parties providers such as Linkedin, Monster, Xing, Fonecta

Who we may share your data with

Personal information collected and processed by GITPS may be shared with the following recipients where necessary:

  • Someone acting on your behalf – ie, if you belong to another recruitment agent or contracting company or another third party provider
  • Our employees and temps (as applicable), for the purposes of providing particular opportunities to you
  • Clients who you are involved in a recruitment process with – this could involve HR, Managers or other Directors involved in the recruitment process
  • Reference checking which will happen during and after an interview process with your permission
  • Our accountants, should you be paid as a consultant under our umbrella or employed from overseas onto our payroll
  • The relevant Immigration authorities, should there be a need to get a work permit to move to an overseas location
  • Relocation services – we work with various bodies to ensure any applicable relocation is smooth and this can involve working with accommodation, car, banks, police to ensure all applicable legal requirements are met to arrive in another country

Passing on Data to Third Parties

Your data will not be passed on to other third parties unless under the strict permission and authority of you

Information we receive from other sources

We use third party providers such as Monster, Xing, Linkedin, Fonecta and only to make available opportunities on a case by case basis

Your rights and your personal data

You have the following rights  under the GDPR with respect to your personal data

  • obtain access to, and copies of, the personal data that we hold about you
  • require us to correct the personal data we hold about you if it is incorrect
  • require us to erase your personal data in certain circumstances
  • require us to restrict our data processing activities in certain circumstances
  • receive from us the personal data we hold about you which you have provided to us, in a reasonable format specified by you, including for the purpose of your transmitting that personal data to another data controller
  • to object, relating to your particular situation, to any of our particular processing activities where you feel this has a unfair impact on you
  • where our processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent
  • The right to make a complaint to the ICO

Consent

GITPS may also process your personal data on the basis of consent you give, for example to send you certain direct marketing communications on roles available, against your specific skill set
